Those troops crossed from Bahrain to Persia and landed near Istakhr. The Persians came between them and their ships, and Khulayd ibn al-Mundhir stood among the people and said: "O people, these people intend by this deed of theirs to make war on you, and you came to make war on them. So seek help in God and fight them, for the land and the ships belong to whoever prevails.
