This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Joyful Muslims ("we", "us") collects when you use the Joyful Muslims iOS app or joyfulmuslims.com (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and what choices you have. We are committed to collecting as little as possible and never selling your data.

1. Data we collect

Account data. When you create an account or sign in with Apple, we receive your name (if you choose to share it), an email address (which may be Apple's relay address), and a unique user identifier. We use this only to create and maintain your account.

Listening data. We store your listening progress, bookmarks, and which books you've started or finished. This powers Continue Listening, sync across devices, and personal recommendations. It is linked to your account and visible only to you.

Subscription data. When you purchase a subscription, Apple shares a transaction identifier and product identifier with us so that we can grant you access to paid content. We do not receive your payment card or Apple ID password.

Diagnostic data. If the app crashes or hits an error, we may log technical details (device model, OS version, app version, anonymous error trace) to improve stability. This data is not linked to your name or email.

Support correspondence. If you email us at support@joyfulmuslims.com, we keep your messages so we can respond and improve the Service.

We process your data on the basis of (a) performance of our contract with you (providing the Service you signed up for), (b) our legitimate interest in improving and securing the Service, and (c) compliance with legal obligations.

We share data only with the service providers we need to operate the app:

Each provider is contractually required to protect your data and use it only on our instructions. We never share data for marketing purposes.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Delete Account), we permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep transaction records for tax or legal purposes.

8. Children

Joyful Muslims is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, hashed credentials) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to minimise risk.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect international transfers.

11. Changes to this Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
