Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Joyful Muslims iOS application and joyfulmuslims.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Joyful Muslims ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Joyful Muslims provides streaming and offline access to audio recordings of classical and contemporary Islamic books, study guides, and related educational content. Some features are free; others require an active subscription.

2. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for any activity that takes place under your account, and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete Account); deletion is permanent and removes your listening history, bookmarks, and personal data from our systems within 30 days.

3. Subscriptions, billing & auto-renewal

Joyful Muslims offers paid subscriptions ("Basic" and "Premium") in addition to a free tier. Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. By purchasing a subscription you agree that:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS).
• No refund is provided for the unused portion of a subscription period, except as required by your local consumer law.
• If we offer a free trial, your subscription will auto-convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.

Any free portion of a subscription will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Copy, redistribute, re-upload, or commercially exploit any audio, transcripts, study material, or other content from the Service without our written permission.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Use the Service to harass others, post unlawful content, or violate any third party's rights.
• Circumvent any technical protection or access control we put in place.

5. Intellectual property

All audio recordings, narrations, study guides, artwork, app design, and software in the Service are owned by Joyful Muslims or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the content for your own private, non-commercial use only.

6. Religious content disclaimer

The Service contains educational content drawn from classical Islamic scholarship. Nothing in the app constitutes a fatwa or a substitute for guidance from a qualified scholar. AI-assisted features (where available) are provided for study and reflection only and may contain errors; verify any ruling with a trusted scholar before acting on it.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit) and on infrastructure providers used to deliver audio. Their terms apply to your use of those services.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joyful Muslims will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Joyful Muslims is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
